ANOTHER DEEP FREEZE
Good Tuesday morning, everyone! Chief meteorologist James Zahara here.
The winds may have eased up around the Quad Cities but the deep freeze is hanging tough for another day. Morning temperatures will once again start off in the single digits before readings by afternoon struggle to reach the lower teens. Northwest winds at 10 mph will lighten up even more which will allow sub-zero wind chills to last just through the morning hours. Temperatures will remain steady overnight and then climb quickly well into the 20s tomorrow as the deep cold finally shifts east.
Another shot of cold, though not as severe, enters later this week as a clipper speeds across the Midwest. This could likely lead to another dusting of light snow later Thursday into Friday. Later this weekend, this cold air departs sending temperatures well above freezing..possibly the 40s starting the new week.
