Negative Wind Chills All Day | Weather
Good Monday morning, everyone! Chief meteorologist James Zahara here.
Whats colder than cold? Ice cold! Thats what will best describe this weather pattern as temperatures will remain just above zero for the remainder of the day. Winds ahead of the arctic high building across the Midwest will be gusting as high as 30 mph plummeting winds chills to was low as -20 degrees.
By tonight, winds will slowly begin to ease as temperatures for the first time this season will drop just below zero. I expect wind chills to remain between -10 to -20 degrees through the rest of the night. I expect another day of single digit highs tomorrow until when the worst of the cold shifts east.
Temperatures should recover in the teens Wednesday with lower 20s both Thursday and Friday until another shot of cold blows in for the weekend. Skies will remain fairly quiet through most of this week with only one wave anticipated to fly through with some light snow by Thursday night into Friday.
Bundle Up!!! :)
