Parking restrictions and weather emergency declared for storm | News

City officials declared weather emergencies, snow routes and invoked parking restrictions in effect for the most-recent snowstorm.

Moline, Illinois has snow routes in effect starting at 4 p.m. Thursday.  Vehicles parked on marked snow routes after that time will be towed at the owner’s expense.  Moline property owners are also responsible for removing snow from sidewalks that border their property within 12 hours of a snowfall.

A snow emergency was declared for Davenport starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, February 21 and continuing until 5 p.m. Friday.  Parking on posted snow routes is prohibited during a snow emergency, and vehicles violating the ordinance could be ticketed or towed.  Off-street parking is encouraged; if you must park along a Davenport street, you should park along the odd-numbered side of the street Thursday and the even-numbered side of the street Friday.

Blue Grass, Iowa mayor Brinson Kinzer declared a weather emergency from noon Thursday, February 21, 2013 to noon Saturday, February 23.  Drivers are asked to avoid parking vehicles on city streets, so emergency vehicles and snow plows have full access.

Clinton officials declared a snow emergency from 6 p.m. Thursday until all streets have been cleared.  Any vehicles still on city streets at 7 p.m. Thursday could be ticketed, towed or both.

A snow emergency was declared for Muscatine, Iowa beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, February 22 and lasting until further notice.  In a snow emergency, vehicles parked along streets in Muscatine must be parked along the side with even-numbered addresses on even-numbered days; and along the side of the street with odd-numbered addresses on odd-numbered days.

East Moline, Illinois declared a snow emergency as of 4 p.m. Thursday, which requires all vehicles to be removed from city streets at that time.  The snow emergency is effective for 24 hours after snowfall ends.  Vehicles not moved can be towed at the owner’s expense.

Dixon, Illinois put its even/odd parking rules in effect for Friday and Saturday.   Even/odd parking rules are in effect, but do not apply to Dixon’s Central Business District.  The fine for violating the parking rules is $75 and the vehicle could be towed.

Buffalo, Iowa has its even/odd parking rule in effect beginning Thursday afternoon and continuing until further notice.

Bettendorf officials notify area media when a snow emergency is declared.  Residents can also call 563-344-4160 any time to find out if Bettendorf is under a snow emergency.  Like Davenport, residents are prohibited from parking on marked snow routes during a snow emergency.

In Rock Island, parking is not allowed on marked snow routes if two or more inches of snow has fallen.  Parking on snow routes is not allowed until the snow is removed.  Vehicle owners will get a $35 parking ticket if they violate the ordinance, and vehicles ticketed and not moved could be towed at the owner’s expense.
