BETTENDORF, Iowa--The Bettendorf Public will be screening four Oscar nominated films from January 29 to February 19. Showings will take place on Tuesdays from 6-8pm.
January 29 - You Can't Take It With You (1938): A man from a family of rich snobs becomes engaged to a woman from a good-natured but decidedly eccentric family.
February 5 - Casablanca (1942): Set in unoccupied Africa during the early days of World War II: An American expatriate meets a former lover, with unforeseen complications.
February 12 - Kramer Vs. Kramer (1979): A just-divorced man must learn to care for his son on his own, and then must fight in court to keep custody of him.
Feburary 19 - Unforgiven (1992): Retired Old West gunslinger William Munny reluctantly takes on one last job, with the help of his old partner and a young man.
Complimentary refreshments are provided by the Friends of the Bettendorf Library.
The Bettendorf Library is located at 2950 Learning Campus Drive in Bettendorf, Iowa.
